The Client
Waliullah Bhuiyan is a leading business entrepreneur in Bangladesh. He is the Founder and CEO of Light of Hope Ltd. – a social enterprise that has created an end-to-end ecosystem for children’s education through media franchises, after-school programs, teacher training, books, toys and libraries. Through this, he has launched Goofi, a global children’s edutainment brand; co-established Kids Time, Bangladesh’s biggest after-school program; and co-established ToguMogu, a parenting platform. He is also the best-selling author of children’s picture books, podcast host, speaker and entrepreneur mentor.
His efforts have been recognised nationally and internationally – with the Unilever Global Entrepreneur Award (2018) and the National SME Foundation Entrepreneur Award. He has a Masters degree from Europa Universitat Flensburg, Germany and has undertaken the Sustainability Leadership course at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, UK.
Until now, Waliullah has not had a personal website to showcase this. He was scattered across LinkedIn, YouTube, media coverage and social media – accessible to those who looked for him, but not in a single credible and organized online presence that could bring him to a new audience.
The Brief
The design brief was clear, and the challenge was high: create a personal brand website that showcases all of Waliullah Bhuiyan’s professional personas – entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker, mentor – in a single, cohesive, professional package. It had to serve a range of visitors: potential investors and partners looking at his businesses, entrepreneurs looking for a mentor, journalists looking for a story, and readers looking for his books.
The key requirements were:
– A professional hero section that communicates his identity and stature at a glance
– A structured overview of his entrepreneurial ventures and their impact
– A dedicated section to showcase his authored books
– A podcast section presenting his episodes in a browsable, listenable format
– A speaking and mentorship section for professional engagements
– A media and press section featuring published articles and interviews
– A timeline or achievements section to convey the arc of his career
– A contact section for professional enquiries
– Clean, organized navigation that lets any visitor find what they need quickly
– Mobile responsiveness — his audience accesses content across all devices
The challenge was not design or development – it was editorial. Waliullah Bhuiyan’s professional profile is multi-faceted. The website needed to give each facet its own voice and prominence while also presenting a holistic view of the individual.
The Challenge — Organizing a Multi-Dimensional Identity
Generally, personal portfolio sites are built to serve a single professional role: a photographer’s portfolio, a web developer’s project list, a business consultant’s services. This project was a different challenge. Waliullah Bhuiyan is a entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker, mentor and media contributor. Each role has a different audience, with different expectations.
The challenge with this diversity is that a website can become a firehose of information – overwhelming and fatiguing. A new user who comes to the site looking for information about the podcast should not have to plow through descriptions of ventures. A client looking for a speaking engagement should not have to search for his speaking qualifications.
| The Challenge | How We Approached It |
| Communicating multiple identities without confusion | Separate sections for each identity, labeled and with targeted content – visitor finds their context in two scrolls |
| Making years of work, projects, books and media coverage browsable | Hierarchy and modular elements (cards, timelines, grids) to convey content without overwhelming the visitor |
| Podcasts needed to be navigable and playable on the site | Podcast showcase page with episode cards, audio embeds and podcast links |
| Professional credentials needed to be front of mind – not a bio statement | Accolades, awards and venture names were front and centre in the hero and above-the-fold areas |
| Content would be added – new books, podcasts, new ventures | Modular content structure that enabled the client to add to sections without starting again |
Design Process ; Figma First
Like all our projects, we started with the design. The whole site was designed in Figma before anything was written in WordPress. This was especially critical for a personal brand site: it’s not just about designing a layout, but designing a personality – and that requires experimentation in a low-risk environment before starting to code.

What Was Designed in Figma
- Hero section layout: photograph treatment, headline, tagline, and primary identity signals
- Venture cards: visual format for presenting multiple companies with equal clarity
- Book showcase grid: cover-forward layout for authored works
- Podcast section: episode card design with audio embed and platform links
- Achievements and awards: timeline-style layout for career milestones
- Speaking and mentorship section: professional engagement display
- Media and press: article/interview card format
- Mobile layout for all above sections
- Navigation structure: single-page anchor navigation and full header
The Figma prototype was presented to the client before building. Any changes to layout, hierarchy, order of sections, and emphasis on content were made in a single round of revisions – avoiding costly changes to the build in Elementor.
| The design process addressed the most challenging question: how do you convey a complex person without making them seem complex? |
Technology Stack
This project was built with WordPress. It allows the client to manage his own content – publishing new podcast episodes, writing blog posts, updating information about his ventures – without needing a developer. All of the site’s pages were created with Elementor Pro, turning the Figma mockups into responsive pages. The CSS made the finishing touches that elevate a personal brand site from the default Elementor look.
| Technology | Purpose in This Project |
| Figma | Full UI design and prototype — all sections designed before build began |
| WordPress | CMS platform — client-managed content updates post-handover |
| Elementor Pro | Page layout builder — all sections built from Figma designs |
| Custom CSS | Typography refinements, hover states, spacing, animation details |
| Podcast Widget | Embedded audio player and episode showcase — browsable on-site |
| SEO Setup | Page title, meta description, Open Graph — personal brand discoverability |
Site Structure & Sections Delivered
The site was designed to guide any visitor, regardless of how they found the site, through a progressive journey to discover Waliullah Bhuiyan. The order of the sections was established in the Figma design process and is an editorial choice: identity, credibility, and then deep dives into each area of work.
| Section | Content & Purpose |
| Hero | Name, headline, tagline, photograph — communicates identity and stature immediately |
| About | Professional biography — the person behind the ventures, concise and purposeful |
| Ventures & Companies | Light of Hope, Goofi, Kids Time, ToguMogu — each with identity, description, and current status |
| Books | Authored children’s books with cover display, title, and description |
| Podcast | Episode showcase with on-site embedded player, episode titles, and platform links |
| Speaking & Mentorship | Professional speaking profile and mentorship offering for entrepreneurs |
| Achievements & Awards | Unilever Global Entrepreneur Award, SME Foundation Award, Cambridge — presented as a credibility timeline |
| Media & Press | Published articles, interviews, and features from The Daily Star, Future Startup, and others |
| Contact | Professional enquiry form for speaking, collaboration, and mentorship requests |
The Podcast Showcase
Waliullah Bhuiyan has a podcast where he talks about entrepreneurship, social good, education and personal growth. This is a key area of interest for an aspirational audience of entrepreneurs and founders. The website needed to display this content in a way that was easily digestible – not just a list of links to Spotify or YouTube, but an embeddable, listenable experience on the site.
We designed the podcast section with embedded cards that include the episode title, description and an in-page audio player – so a user can listen while browsing. Each episode card also contains links to Spotify, YouTube and other podcast apps for users who prefer to listen in their podcast app. The podcast section is a managed content type, so the client can add new podcast episodes via the WordPress dashboard and they are automatically added to the podcast section in the appropriate card format.
This is a great feature for any content creator with an expanding catalogue. The podcast section grows in proportion to the podcast library – no design or development needed for each new episode.
Presenting Multiple Ventures with Clarity
A particularly challenging section was the ventures section. Waliullah is the founder or co-founder of four different companies – Light of Hope Ltd., Goofi, Kids Time, and ToguMogu – that each have their own branding, purpose and status. To avoid any one venture dominating the others, and to avoid the section becoming a sea of text, a card-based layout was designed in Figma and then built using Elementor with custom styles.
Each card includes the name of the company, a brief description of its focus and target market, and a link to the venture’s website. The hierarchy of the cards places the venture identity first and the detail second – it’s clear to the visitor what each venture does before they decide to read more. The design also scales well to mobile, with the cards appearing one after the other.
Outcome
The site was delivered on time (2-3 weeks). Waliullah Bhuiyan now has a single, professional website that showcases his multi-faceted identity as an entrepreneur, author, podcast host, speaker and mentor in a coherent, believable and easy-to-access way.

Prior to the website, his online presence was scattered across LinkedIn, YouTube, media publications and social media. These highlighted different aspects of his work, but not all of it. A reporter, investor or partner would have had to cross reference several platforms to get a complete picture of him. The website eliminates this problem – one visit, one full introduction.
The podcast section provides his audio content a home on his own website – not at the mercy of a third party’s algorithm or user interface. The ventures section gives his businesses the place and prominence they deserve. The achievements section gives him credibility without the reader having to look for it. The contact section provides a home for business contact.
